Mum's Birthday - June 2009

It was Mum's birthday and I thought of doing something small and special. The day before we got her a small cup cake since we all do not really like cakes (except for Ben!). We bought this cake from a shop in SS2 and Ben was so excited that he wants to carry the box all the way home. Was so worried that he would crush the cake!

Here is Mum lighting the cake with Ben and Jack. You can see Ben eyeing the cake very intently!

The happy grandmother of 2! Dont ask me how old my mother is... I also dont know and I dont want to know! Haha...reminds me how old I am myself.

Perfect shot of Ben.....Oh no....here we got lighting the cake again.......

Now practising blowing.....as you can see Ben is pretty dramactic to blow cake...! :)...he will go ....ahhhhhhhhhhhh phewwwwwwwwww.....while Jack is standing by and looking a bit confused with all the drama!

Ok, let us all blow, blow, blow the candle.

We are done....mmmmmmmm.....and voila, the cake! Sorry forgot to take picture of the cake before it was eaten.

Japanese Steam Boat

It was friend, N's birthday. She is the one in the middle. Why do I look so funny in this picture? Because I was about to ask the waiter whether he pressed the button on my camera hard enough??! Obviously he did!

Asked friend, M to recommend a Japanese place as N love Japanese food. She recommend this Japanese steam boat place in Jaya 33. We ordered 4 set (why 4? because it was a buy 3, free 1 promotion) which were namely chicken, duck, black salmon and .... oh dear, I cannot remember what is the 4th one since it is halal. Oh yah! Beef....but not the kobe one as that was really expensive!
First the hot pot. They used this gold kettle with a long spout to pour the soup into the hot pot.

The vegetables - loads of it.....
.....we need to put the vegetable into the hotpot first as recommended by the menu....

This is how the meat looks like, very thinly sliced with an egg right in the middle.

The waitress will then break the eggs and spread it all around and then made them into balls.

Finally dip them nto the hot pot. Forgot to take a photo of us eating and enjoying ourselves. The final amount came out to about RM150 which includes 3 servings of green tea with red beans. Not too bad.

Genting Highlands

During one of those days when it was really hot, we decided to go up to Genting and used hub's coupon voucher for Buy One Free One park entrance. Ben still do not need to pay for the entrance fees yet (but not for very long!). We decided to do just a one day trip as I was too lazy to pack up his stuff. Anyway he is pretty uncomfortable at different surroundings.

So here we are getting ready to go in. So excited. It has been many years since I visited the theme park. The sad part is that it is already so commercialised. When we were young, the park was not closed up and mum used to cook nasi lemak for us to take up there to eat. We will do this on our way to Raub which is my paternal grandparents's hometown. It was really fun! Anyway on with the story..... Wonderful time on the carousel.....
Oh dear...what is that??????

Wooowww.....so high up the ride! No, mama is not going up there! No way! And this was just a basic ride!

Ok, this one I will go! This antique car ride has been around ever since I was young! Still here!

Taking a ride on the train...getting chummy with daddy as a bit afraid....

In-door playground for kids....the wonderful thing is that the weather is cooling...

He loves being on the counter

Climbing here and there as well....
Up the escalator for lunch

Going for another ride in the in-door theme park.....

...and that was about it. Oh yah...another thing was that as we were going on a ride on the train which goes around the in-door and out-door park, Ben leaned out and his milk bottle dropped down. His surprised expression was really a good one! Then of course, he cried and cried......
